Look at your reflection! What do you see?

Simba: You knew my father? 

Rafiki: Correction I know your father. 

Simba: I hate to tell you this, but he died a long time ago.

Rafiki: Nope, wrong again (laughs).  He's alive and I will show him to you. You follow Rafiki, he knows the way.

(Music playing) They run into the forest until they stop in front of a stream.

Rafiki: Stop shh look down there. 

Simba proceeds to look down the stream.  He looks down and sees a reflection of himself and sighs and says, "that's not my father, it's just my reflection.

Rafiki: No, lookout there.

Simba proceeds to look at where Rafiki points, the look of the water changes and he sees his father.

Rafiki: You see, he lives in you

Mufasa appears in the clouds

Mufasa: Simba 

Simba: father 

Mufasa: Simba, you have forgotten me

Simba: No, how could I? 

Mufasa: You have forgotten who you are and so you have forgotten me.  Look inside yourself Simba, you are more than what you have become. You must take your place in the circle of life.

Simba: How can I go back? I'm not who I used to be.

Mufasa: Remember who you are! You are my son and the one true king.  Remember who you are!

Aren't most of us like Simba? We have forgotten who we are because we have forgotten who God is, because we no longer spend time in His presence. Instead of looking to God for Validation and identification, we look to beings who are broken and give us a broken definition of ourselves or rather of themselves because humans tend to project on others.

We tend to look in the wrong mirrors when trying to view ourselves. Like will smith once said, "how can we look to others to esteem ourselves? there's a reason why it is called self-esteem."

When you look at your reflection, what do you see? Yourself or Jesus?

If you do see yourself, what do you see? the world view of you? the broken view of you? the best view of you? 

Have the choices or circumstances of life made you forget who your heavenly father is? 

Has doubt crept in and taken over you completely, making you forget that you are a daughter/son of a king?  And because you have forgotten the one who created you, you have forgotten yourself and have lost  your way.  You have forgotten that you are hidden in Christ and He resides in you.    

Perhaps sin/ the world and circumstances have made you go astray and you don't know what to do.  Therefore, you move away from the one you came from and doubt the abilities He bestowed upon you to be great. 

Now, you are lost because you don't know what you are meant to do in life, or you do know but you don't have the courage to pursue it, because you have forgotten/lost your identity.  

Remember who you are and you will remember where you come from and who you are meant to be.  You will remember God's will and purpose for your life. 

You may have forgotten God but He has not forgotten you.  He is very much alive and waiting for your return to Him with open arms. Remember who you are, do not let the devil steal your thunder or take your identity from you. 

You are a daughter/son of a king, a royal priesthood, You are wonderfully and fearfully made,  God's craftmanship, the true inheritor of the earth as the earth is God's and fullness thereof. 

You have been called to be the light of the world and salt of the earth like Jesus. You have been called to be good!

Now look at your reflection again.  What do you see?
