Are We a Sad Generation with Happy Pictures?

Image
Are We a sad generation with happy pictures? Yes, we are! Why are we sad? Perhaps because we are viewing life the wrong way. Perhaps because we are focused on what could be and what never was, instead of what is. Perhaps because we haven't mastered the art of contentment. Perhaps because comparison is our prison. We choose to live both in the future and the past and ignore the present because it's too painful for us to fathom. We are an ungrateful generation. Things don't go our way and we think we are cursed, or God is mad at us. Do you ever wonder why you went through what you went through? You went through it for a reason. No experience is meaningless or wasted, even when it feels that way. We all have a purpose to fulfil.  That's why God chose to put us in our mothers’ bellies. That's why we survived our births. We are a sad generation because we haven't found the purpose God created us for.  Or rather we haven't asked Him yet, or we don't know how t

If not fear...

What's holding us back, if not fear? What keeps us from fulfilling our dreams, if not fear? What stops us from taking risks, if not fear? What prevents us from fighting for the love we deserve, if not fear? What stops us from showing our true authentic selves, if not fear? What stops us from holding onto our beliefs despite all odds, the judgements and critics, if not fear? What stops us from holding on to the confessions of our faith, despite the challenges and weapons formed, if not fear? What keeps us caged in our comfort zone, if not fear? What prevents us from gambling on ourselves, if not fear. What prevents us from taking that leap of faith into our next phase of lives, if not fear?  What keeps us from going into the unknown and unlocking the lost knowledge of the world, if not fear? What prevents us from blessing the world with the rich, valuable, potent, untapped resources locked away within us, if not fear? If not fear, then what's holding us back? Perhaps doubt, whic

By His Sprit says the Lord

“Not by your might, nor by your power, but by my Spirit saith the Lord of hosts” - Zechariah 4:6b By His Spirit says the Lord Nothing can be done on earth without God knowing about it because the earth is the lord’s and the fullness thereof (Psalm 24:1). At the beginning of the year, God began to whisper the scripture, "not by your might, nor by your power but by my Spirit".  It's not by our understanding, but by His Spirit says the Lord.   He has the deepest places of the earth in His hands (Psalm 95:4) Nothing can be done without Him knowing. Absolutely Nothing! The hearts of kings, presidents, and leaders are in His hands, and He can turn them as the rivers of waters; whichever way He wants to (Proverbs 21:1).  He is omnipresent and controls everything. When the scripture kept coming to me, I began to ponder on it until it began to resonate with my soul.  we cannot do anything without the Spirit of God. This is why we stress and we suffer from everything we try to do

Reassuring Your Focus.

Image
"It is better to believe than to disbelieve. In doing so, you bring everything to the realm of possibility" - Albert Einstein I'm sure we all know about the story of Peter walking on water. For those who don't know, he was on the boat with the other disciples when he saw Jesus walking on water and called out to Him, and Jesus told him to come. The minute Jesus called Peter, Peter left the boat and began to walk on water, but then  he realised what he was doing, and his focus shifted from Jesus to the wind, and he began to sink, and cried to Jesus. Immediately, he shifted his focus from the wind back to Jesus. By shifting his focus back to Jesus, he was able to rise above the water again. From the story I have just told, you can guess what this is about... It's about our focus!  Most times, we hear sermons about having faith that can move mountains, but we rarely hear sermons about focus. You see, for our faith to be strong, we need an equally strong focus. What

Are you led?

Romans 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. The other day I was speaking to my mom about getting a facial on my birthday and the first thing she asked was why? There's nothing wrong with your face. You have nice skin. Why do you want a facial? My response: I just want to know what it's like. The next question she asked and the statement she made after that baffled me. She was like, did you pray about it? And I was like why would I pray about it? It's just a facial. And then came the quote that for some reason has not been something I have dwelled on in a long time. She said" those who are led by the Spirit of God are the sons of God". We then had a conversation about asking God before making decisions and leaping into things. How many of us first ask God before we do things? We simply make decisions and choices and expect God to follow through and accept and agree with what we have decided to do for ourselves. We live withou

Miracles happen when we give thanks

Image
We tend to ask more instead of thank more.  We tend to need more instead of being content with what we have. We tend to forget what God has done for us, but remember the things He hasn't done. We tend to complain, instead of being grateful and praise Him. There is power in praise and thanksgiving.  In psalms 22:3 says,  "But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel". God inhabits the praises of His people. To inhabit means to dwell in, to live in.  Where God is, there is favour and liberty. When He dwells in our praises, He favours them(supports our praises, gives His approval).  1Thessolonians 5:16-18 says, "Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus". Hebrews 13:15-16 says, "Through Jesus therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise - the fruits of lips that openly profess His name. And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for

TAg YOu ARe It

TAg you're it Tag you are it You never really think it will happen to you until it does.  You never really think you'll be tagged until you are the embodiment of it. Until then, you think you are special. A superhuman. Untouchable.  Immune to it's deadly charm and destruction. Then one day, you taste its kiss and realize… Oh crap! TAG I AM IT! I was it and I don't plan on being it anymore.  Disclaimer: this can be about covid, cancer or anything you want it to be. It can be about a bad situation you once found yourself in. It's up to the reader to decide.

"Often times, it's our present self that fails us, while our future self is fighting to save us".

It is who God says you are that matters... As I write this,  I'm finding it hard to grasp what I just wrote. We are humans, so we crave human approval even though subconsciously we know that what people think of us should not be important. Our thoughts of ourselves determine what we become. The bible says as a man thinketh so is he; If you think you are intelligent, you'll become intelligent, if you think you are excellent you'll become excellent. Even if you are in an environment where you are belittled and told the opposite of what you have chosen to believe in yourself. It takes strength and courage to not allow your mind and thoughts to be deceived and influenced by the words of others. Just because you are not performing in one place, doesn't mean you won't perform in another.  It takes courage and capability to realise who you are and who God created you to be. Become the woman/man you were created to be and do not remain the person you are now.  Oftentimes,

Next Time

"In every adversity there lies the seed of an equivalent advantage. In every defeat is a lesson showing you how to win the victory next time". - Robert Collier There's always next time. Next time is a world of opportunity.  It shows you that all is not lost and  hope is right around the corner, despite failure's scent still lingering after the disappointment of not getting what you expected. Despite the late nights, the sleepless nights, working hard and working to the bone, failure still found a way to creep in.  There is always next time. Next time is the link to the hope we need to carry ourselves through. It's just a setback, failure doesn't mean failure. It is not the end of the road because there's always next time🤎 The road never ends because there's always next time.

Don't Be a Giant, Be a David!

"If I have seen further than others, it is by standing upon the shoulders of giants" - Isaac Newton Do you know the phrase, "hanging with giants or standing on the shoulders of giants?" I hear this phrase a lot. It basically means hanging around with the big men and women of this world, with people who have made it in life.  People who are a force to be reckoned with and noticed the moment they walk into a room. People other people fear and want to be like. That was the case with Goliath. He was a giant from the philistine, but what people don't know is that he was a descendant of the fallen angels - half-man, half-angel He was mean and scary and could not be defeated, and he was a force to be reckoned with. However, there was also a David.  The opposite of a giant, but yet, he was God's chosen one. He was a boy who was overlooked by his own father.  He was small and no one really thought of him.  Yet, he stood before a giant with God by his side, ready to
