The Principle of Free Will and The Invincible Forces That Govern This World

Last year on this blog, I wrote about the fault being in us and not in our stars and how our actions are a ripple effect that governs the things that will eventually take place in our lives. I spoke on the principle of sowing and reaping. However, since then, I have come to realize that there is much more to life than us and the decisions we make. Whether we choose to believe it, we do not govern ourselves. There is a reason why the bible states that the whole world lies under the influence of the evil one. Ephesians 2:1-3 states that  God quickened us, who were dead in trespasses and sins; Wherein in time past, we walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. As you can see, free will

You Are The Key To Your Destiny

Image
I thank God for where He has brought me, and where I am as a person, and the job he has given me. However, I remember once when I was crying out to God, asking Him why I was here and why I did not deserve to be here. Before saying what He told me, let me give you a back story... Finally, I got a job after two years of unemployment. I finally got a JOB! It isn't the job of my dreams but it is a job, and I have had to start at the very bottom of the food chain with a salary that is next to nothing. Nevertheless, it is a job and I'm grateful for it. Anyways, I have this job, and I have worked for a while at the company and there have been instances where I hated the job and loved the job, depending on the situations. Thus I went through this hate/love, hate/love tug of war until I fell into a deep sadness and I realized I was not in love with my job and I wanted more. Give me more! Give me more! More pay! A better position! A better everything! You know, they always say you should

God's Magnificent Love towards us

Image
I think 🤔 one of the most important things I have learnt in life is God's magnificent love towards us.  I don't mean feeling or knowing He loves us, but understanding and having knowledge of His love towards us.  I have always struggled with faith and struggled with accepting where I am and where God has taken me.   I have always complained about this and that, never satisfied with what I have and what God has given me. Never wondering if there are lessons to be learned in all these and reasons for God doing what He is doing. Nevertheless,  when I began to gain knowledge and understanding of God's love, it led me to a better understanding of faith and who God is. I mean His love is so pure and so true that His thoughts towards us are of good not of evil to bring us to an expected end!  EXPECTED NOT UNEXPECTED! Meaning an end that is going to happen. When we have an understanding and knowledge of the love God has for us, we can trust Him and have complete faith in Him. He l

What Death Taught Me

You would think that after losing a dear friend I would be up in arms ready to fight God and anyone who tried to comfort me or reassure me. You would think I would be full of hate and anger, but that was not the case. I was sad and in despair and somewhat depressed but it did not draw me away from God, it only drew me closer. Life is very fleeting, it's like a flower. Here today looking beautiful in the sun and then gone tomorrow, blown by the wind. No one knowing where it has gone. So why would I move away from an all-knowing, all-powerful and all-loving God when I can learn from the one who created me and is moulding me into the person He created me to be. I learnt that what we do on earth is useless if the afterlife leads us to the one place we all dread and most of us don't believe exists or don't want to believe exists. What is the point of all these qualifications and accomplishments if they don't lead to the narrow path that leads us to the home Jesus spoke about

The four letter word PAIN

Image
PAIN What is it? Why is it a part of life? Why are you so familiar but yet so mysterious? What do you want? You come in different shapes, forms and sizes. Sometimes you are expected and other times you are unexpected.  However, even in those different times, you are unwanted. What do you want from humanity? What do you want from me? What do you hope to achieve? Sometimes you are emotional, physical, mental, spiritual, governmental, economic, medical.  The list goes on... You have no face, yet you have been seen, tasted, felt, touched. Why do we need you to grow and develop? What is your purpose? Your hugs are too tight! They are not hugs! They are daggers in my back, my body, my lungs, my mind.  I can't breathe, I can't be with you. I have been through a lot with you. I have grown and changed and matured in some ways. In other ways... I have been broken, shattered. If I have a choice, I would choose not to know you than to taste your kiss of death. I'm alive but it feels li

Change: A force to be reckoned with

Image
Change mocks us with her beauty, she plays with our emotions and she leads us astray. First, it starts with a kiss and a hug and you think, 'this is what I need'.  Then the process of letting change in begins.  Things happen but they never happen the way we expect them to.  You become sceptical, unsure, pining for the old, the past; where life was comfortable and known. Craving to return but unable to return, feeling unstable.  You have to face her, you have to accept her into your embrace while remembering that God has you. His ways are not your ways and His thoughts are not your thoughts, they are higher. There are two sides to change. The first side is the normal side, the side that is inevitable but yet unpredictable. The side people look forward to but yet at the same time sometimes dread. The surprising and shocking side, the slow and fast side, the beautiful and yet ugly side. The second side is the artificial side... Oh, so we think! I say artificial because we dr

Counting Down: The race is not to the swift

Image
I decided to end the year 2020 by counting down to 2021 when there were just ten days left in the year. Normally when I count down, I would start counting from the next day instead of the present-day because it seemed to make the days go faster. However, I decided to start counting from the present day for some reason. At first, I thought I was doing it just to be different from everyone else.  Then I realised it was because I wanted to make the conscious decision of living every day fully, instead of jumping the gun and ignoring the present day just so I could feel things were moving fast.   Doing this, I realised how many moments I had missed because I simply chose not to acknowledge the present day and focused on the future.  There always seems to be something awaiting us in the future that takes our attention away from the present, but the thing is, we end up doing ourselves a disservice by not acknowledging the Gift God has given us.....  The ability and time to live fully in the

Listen to your heart, you won't be disappointed.

Once upon a time, in a faraway land, there was a big fat king and a skinny little pauper. One day, the king and the pauper bumped into a magic genie. Well, the genie was in a fantastic mood, so he offered them both one wish each. Of course, the king loudly shared his. "I wish, I wish for all the gold in the world!" Now it was the pauper's turn to make his own wish. The pauper walked to a corner and turned away from the king and the genie.  He shut his eyes and said, "I wish I wish I wish I wish." Years later, the king and the pauper met again and the king was now driven demented with Gold! It was in his socks, his boots, under his pillow... The pauper, well the pauper was now the happiest man alive. The king was desperate to know what in the name of God did the pauper wish for? The king pleaded and pleaded. "Tell me your wish! Tell me your wish!" The pauper smiled, "alright hmm, I'll tell you. I wished I wished I wished I wished." The pau

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood...

Ephesians 6:12  For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places...  For the longest time, I always used to wonder why people would say, "don't talk about your successes or what you want to do in life." I never understood it because I found it to be somewhat selfish and unbecoming. Why wouldn't you talk about your successes or plans? Why don't you want people to be as great as you? Or rather, why would you want people to remain stagnant or in poverty? Why don't you want people to know how you did it?  I always felt success or whatever it was people did,  was something that was to be shared so that everyone was given the same opportunity. The answers I got from people were very puzzling. "Don't tell people about your successes because they don't want you to be great and will make sure you don't succeed. They wish

And Then it Happens....

Image
And then it happens... As you walk into your purpose after seeking it for an eternity or what seems like an eternity. Keeping your head up and your eyes on God, loving His presence and His most welcomed company.  You meet him or her unexpectedly!  When you are off guard, in your own space and your eyes are to the Almighty. Searching for the next step to take towards the path that has been created for you.  As you look down and forward, there he or she will be.  Found and looking back at you!  And from your space to their space, you both will enter a space created specifically for your journey.  Hand in hand waiting on Christ.  That is how it will all begin.- Kayinsola
